Amendments to the National List of Exemptions
On 17 October 2007, the Australian Safety and Compensation Council declared, by majority decision, an amendment to Schedule 2 of the
National Model Regulations for the Control of Workplace Hazardous Substances [NOHSC:1005(1994)] to extend Exemption 4 of the National List of Exemptions from the chrysotile prohibition until 31 December 2010.

In accordance with sub-section 7(1) of the Australian Workplace Safety Standards Act 2005 the ASCC is inviting public comment on the proposed amendment to Schedule 2 of the National Model Regulations for the Control of Workplace Hazardous Substances to extend Exemption 4 of the National List of Exemptions until 31 December 2010.
