Please note that the public comment period for the Draft National Standard and Code of Practice for the Control of Workplace Hazardous Chemicals and accompanying Regulatory Impact Statement was extended to 15 March 2007.
Further information on the GHS
The draft documents for workplace hazardous chemicals are based on the principles of the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). The official text of the GHS (1st Revised Edition) can be viewed here.
An overview of international progress to implement the GHS can be viewed here.
Chemical regulation agencies in the European Union and the United States are currently conducting public comment processes relating to implementation of the GHS.
