Mr John Killeen ACT Ambulance (ACT)

The ACT Ambulance Service provides mobile intensive care to the ACT community. John Killeen began research into emergency service visibility when studying as an ambulance paramedic student. John has continued on this work since then, being a major contributor to further advancements in visual technology and potential application for the ACT Ambulance Service with the overall aim of improving visibility and therefore safety of the ACT Ambulance Service fleet and its users, the ambulance paramedics.
John’s work involved changing the traditional markings and emergency warning lights resulting in greater visibility. John was nominated by the ACT Ambulance Service for his outstanding contribution to greatly improving not only the safety of ACT Ambulance Service staff, but that of other road users by giving them increased warning potential of an oncoming emergency vehicle.
