Visionstream is a small self-insuring company that deals with the design, construction, operation and maintenance of copper and optic fibre networks.
Visionstream’s ‘Project 5’ health and safety initiative is a management system undertaken to improve its safety performance. The system encompasses a strategy of leadership, communication, consultation and cultural change which has resulted in significant improvement in the company’s health and safety performance.
Senior management is committed to the OHS management system. A number of creative and innovative ideas have been implemented to change safety culture within the organisation and bring awareness of safety to employees and their families. As a result, Visionstream has had major improvements in injury rates and a significant improvement in workplace health and safety overall.
