Ideas for activities during the week
WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE YOU GOING TO BE ORGANISING DURING SAFE WORK AUSTRALIA WEEK?
SOME IDEAS…
Follow the three steps below:
1. Get involved ! there are plenty of ways you can promote safety as part of Safe Work Australia Week, such as:
• Holding workplace safety seminars
• Safety training
• Safety themed morning tea
• Review of safety procedures
• Whole of office safety stretch
• Team gym visit and health assessment
• Safety competitions – design a safety poster or suggest a safety slogan
• OHS suggestion box
• Safety crosswords
• Establish or promote an OHS committee, to name a few…
Be creative – your only limit to how you can promote safety at work is your imagination.
Be inspired – see what other workplaces did last year
2. Advertise and promote your activities to staff:
Now you have the idea – get the word out!:
• Send a media release to local media about the plans for a week
• Put a message on your staff intranet
• Announce through your staff sound system
• Use Safe Work Australia Week posters to announce your activities
• OHS representatives to announce plans
• Use your staff newsletter or create a special edition
The ASCC has produced a suite of downloadable resources and free promotional products to help assist you to promote Safe Work Australia Week in your workplace.
3. Tell us what you did and send pictures
We want to hear all about it, send us details of what you did in your workplace during Safe Workl Australia Week. Send your email to swaw@ascc.gov.au
The ASCC may publish your story on the website to inspire others and showcase you as the Safety Champion you clearly are.
